2024 Award Recipient

Join us on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., at Independence High School to honor Russ Fortlage during the Alumni Association meeting. All Alumni and guests are invited to attend.

Russ was born in Independence and has remained an Independence resident his entire life. A bedrock of integrity, trust, character, reason, seasoned maturity and judgment, while living a responsible life and seeking no recognition or reward, Russ exemplifies what it means to be a citizen in our great Country, to be a supporter of quality education, and to be a supporter of students and student athletes. Thus, we most proudly recognize Russ as the 2024 Independence High School Alumni Association Diploma of Distinction Award Recipient.

The Alumni Association meets quarterly on the second Monday of the month in March, June, September and November.

Newsletter Submission Deadline for the Spring Spectator is Sunday, May 19th.

Newsletter Submission Deadline for the Winter Spectator is Sunday, November 17th.

Donations and Memorabilia

We are always looking for Memorabilia from your high school years. If you have rings, class photos, yearbooks or other memorabilia, particularly from 1926 thru 1928, 1931 thru 1944, 1946 thru 1951, 1992 and 1994, you would like to donate, please email Bob Wagner ('66), at goawagner@aol.com.
